A domino set consists of pieces from a domino game, sometimes called a set or stack. A traditional European Chinese domino set consists of 28 domino tiles, colloquially nicknamed bones, cards, tokens, bills, stones, or spinners. Eachis a rectangular tile with a line dividing its face into two square ends. There are some extended domino sets (double 9 and double 12). Used in Mexican Train, Chicken Foot and similar games. Each country has its own set of domino sets: England – Muggins (the five), Scandinavia – Bergen, Mexico – Mexican Train, Spain – Matador.

General rules of dominoes:

Blocking game

The simplest form of dominoes is for two players and requires a double set of six pieces. The twenty-eight dominoes are shuffled upside down and form a wooden piece or store of pieces. Each player draws seven pieces; the remaining pieces are not used. A player begins by dropping (playing the first) of his or her pieces. In Muggins the player must start with the highest double number (6-6), in Bergen the first move must be 0-0, and in Mexican Train each round begins with the next lowest double number. Players alternately extend the line of play with one piece at one end. If this happens, whoever caused the ban will get all the remaining player points without counting his own points.
